Good Old (Man) Day Syndrome

In the New Meadowlands Stadium - our seats are in the lower level. But the way they have it designed - it's between two levels...meaning you can go down about 5 rows to the main concourse or you can go up 10 rows to a smaller 2nd level.

On the main concourse - there is food - beer - bathrooms - the regular stuff you would find in any stadium. On the 2nd level - there are smaller bathrooms and other ways to travel throughout the stadium.

Now - when I needed to use the restroom - I went to the smaller bathroom upstairs. Upon my arrival - there was a line of about 10 people waiting. Here's the converstion I overheard by 2 men in line right in front of me:

Old Man: "I can't believe there's a line here."

Young Man: "It's not too bad - I wonder how many toilets are in there?"

Old Man: "You'd think when they built this stadium there would have built a bigger bathroom."

(As we get closer to the end of the line....)

Young Man: "Yeah - you would think that there would be more than 3 urinals and two stalls."

Old Man: "This place sucks. At the old Stadium you could get in and out no problem. I can't believe there is only one way in and one way out. This place is garbage."

(The conversation between the two man ends as they depart for a urinal/stall)

When I was washing my hands - the Young Man says to me (as he is washing his hands), "Doesn't take much to get that old man fired up."

To which I answered, "He probably hated the move from the Polo Grounds to Yankee Stadium in 1956. Besides - I love this place. I now have season tickets because of this building so I'll wait a few extra minutes for the small bathroom."

He agreed.
