Say what you want, but I'm going to miss Jeremy Shockey as a New York Giant. I know he brought drama but he also brought an emotional intensity that's hard to replicate. It's hard to replace vocal leaders like Strahan and Shockey in the same season. Say what you want, but when they stand up for their team mates (not often) they help take some of the pressure off a bad Sunday for a player. Shockey dropped balls but he also did a hell of a job at blocking. I don't think Roy Williams is going to get much playing time this year but I'm going to miss Shockey owning Roy Williams throught the Cowboys games.
What I won't miss is the injury plagued season and the whining. I'm also still blaming him for the jinx that he put on the Seattle Seahawks game a few years ago when they missed all the field goals. His stupid arrogance made the Giants look worse than they already did that night. I should probably give my company back a day's worth of pay because I know that I didn't get any work done the Monday after that game. But, I also will never forget his rookie season. I'd have to go back to the film but I'll never forget the play where he caught the ball right at the sideline and then ran up the field only to change his direction so he could truck some opposing safety. I still love watching that play.
I think Shockey is going to be a sucess in New Orleans. I'm sure Kevin Boss will fill in fine but first lets see what he can do for a full season. Hopefully this new tight end we picked up in the draft will show some promise. What do you guys think? Keep in mind: A.) Shockey was not allowed on the sidelines for the SuperBowl. He didn't stay in the clubhouse because he wanted to but was required too because of his crutches. Derrick Ward didn't attend the Superbowl and neither Shockey, Kiwanuka, or Ward were on the field in Lambeau. Then again, I don't blame them. B.)Shockey did miss the ring ceremony which I thought was kind of bush league.
In the end, I'm going to miss seeing number 80 start up some shit with the opposing team on Sundays.

Resignings
Looks like a few players got extensions and resignings in the past couple of weeks.
Lawrence Tynes is reportedly signed on for another 5 years along with Jeff Feagles for another 2 years. I also saw that a contract extension is in the works for Tom Coughlin for reportedly 4 years at about $5 million a year.
Let's hope we can keep this thing going.

Sorry for the lack of posts
I've been gone all week on business in Austin. I'll try and figure out this whole posting pictures on Picassa business so that I can post all the pictures. I also want to add a few flavorful additions to the webpage. We'll see what I can come up with this weekend.
Last week Bob, Richard and I spent a $2 Domestic Draft afternoon at Bennigans Sports. We enjoyed the comfort of a nice leather chair setup with a plasma screen in front of us. Fortunate for us, there was a replay of the 2008 Super Bowl. Maybe some of you saw it? It was the NY Giants vs. the New England Patriots. If you haven't, you should watch it. It was a great game. (Hopefully, at this point, you've picked up on the sarcasm.) Anyway, it was a good time at Bennigans Sports. If anybody feels like making this get together somewhat semi regular in the off season, let me know. I'm always interested. Especially once baseball season starts.

Greate Stat for Weekend Conversation
Was it really almost two weeks ago that the New York G-Unit finished numero uno in the NFL Football ranks for the 2007 season? So it's 1:10 A.M., and you would think that it's time to get over looking for any new and interesting NY Giants stat that someone may come up with. WRONG! Here's another one posted by Bill Simmons on ESPN.com.
"Leftover Super Bowl Stat: The Giants are 3-1 in the Super Bowl when trailing at the half. All other teams that trailed at halftime at the Super Bowl are a combined 5-31. Noted by reader Mark Richard of Boston."
GENIUS!
Although I don't like the thought that we've trailed at the half of all 4 Super Bowls, it's still nice to see that the Giants are the comeback team to win three of them.

I Love This Feeling
Okay, so am I the only one that is still high on life? I'm sorry these posts are slow to appear. I've had some difficulty with posting the pictures from the post season games. I'll figure it out this weekend.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm tired of hearing the statement "the better team lost" in the Super Bowl. Forget that. I'll have a little more on that this weekend.
Thanks to all who came out for the game. That is how a Super Bowl party is supposed to be celebrated.

1st Post
Well here we go. First post for bigbluedfw.com. Let's remember that this is a work in progress. I was able to put this together pretty quickly last night. Look for new enhancements in the next few weeks.
