The NFL opened the doors today and we've already got a gem from Justin Tuck during an interview with the New York Post. Here's what he had to say in response to Rex Ryan:
"I'm gonna say this and this is gonna be the last time I comment on anything Rex Ryan says. The last time I checked, I have a Super Bowl ring and he doesn't, so if he's proud of coming up short, I guess he should be proud of that."
I love it.

Help a Brotha Out
Now I have reason #998,434,023 to hate those fucking patriots... they stole my pick, fuckers.. And a perfectly suited nick name.... now I do like Prince... Had I known he'd fall all the way to the 19th pick, he would have been on my list... but again if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle, so wtf... My problem my peeps is that I need a good name for BIG BLUES newest stud.. So I will let you decide my my final three...... The Fresh Prince of NY..... Robin Hood, Prince of the flat..... or simply Pussy control...... And please get back to me ASAP cause I won't be able to rest till this is resolved....

Mock Drafts Are Easy
That's right - I said it...mock drafts are easy. For months everyone - including BigBlueDFW - has been speculating on the draft. For us - it's primarily been about the New York Giants. Do the Giants pick an offensive lineman? A defensive tackle? Another defensive end? Or what about the best player available?
But what about the guy you don't want on your team? You see - yesterday I was asked to name one guy I wouldn't like to have. I immediately answered:
Mike Pouncey, OG - Florida
I really have no solid evidence to support my answer...other than watching him consistently snap the ball 10 feet over the quarterback's head early in his senior season.
For Jmall - it's probably anyone from Texas.
For Drew - it's anyone from Florida State; a purple team; or a bird team.
For Mac - it's anyone that went to Bergen Catholic.
For Re "Pete" aka Teddy Ruxpin - it's anyone from Texas. (because he heard Jmall say it)
Who do you not want?

I need an OT
It is the Monday of my discontent... Fucking Knicks kicked me in the ball bag with the sweep... but this is about BIG BLUE... As you all know, the draft is coming up Thursday and BIG BLUE will most def T.C.B. it shit (take care of business) after all the mock drafts and the bla bla nonsense... most of the "experts have BIG BLUE drafting Castono out of B.C. Here's the deal... every year we're all covetous of some player and every year Big Blue goes in a completely different direction from what I thought and every year that pick works out fine... except for that cocksmoker Ross who by the way is the second best athlete in his house (sorry Bobby).. So I've got a dilemma; should I; A. stay true to form and scream cock(fill in the blank) when my choice isn't picked and then wait till a stud is born. Or; B. trust in the system that cranks out quality player after quality player?... I think A.... gots to go with what you know I think... I mean how much fun would the draft be if we... the faithful didn't have an opinion? So on Thursday I cast my ballot for Nate Solder while I'm making the main event my bitch....

"WASHINGTON -- Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was charged Tuesday with misdemeanor sexual abuse for allegedly fondling his server's breast at a Washington hotel."
Didn't this asshole make our douche bag of summer one time? He may make another one...

New York Giants Draft Philosophy
The New York Giants draft philosophy and history proves it will remain the same. Whether George Young, Ernie Acorsi or Jerry Reese they will pick the best on the board and use free agency to fill players needed.
According to Jerry Reese,"If a good player is there and he is the highest player on our board, we are going to pick the best player, guys."

NEW YORK GIANTS NEWS
The New York Giants 2011 Preseason games were announced today:
Aug. 11-15 at Panthers
Aug. 22 vs. Bears -Monday Night Football
Aug. 25-29 vs. Jets
Sept. 1 at Patriots
Thirty plus days into the Lockout and the preseason is announced. Apparently, Judge Nelson has ordered the NFL and NFLPA back into mediation in Minnesota under the direction of Chief Magistrate Arthur Boylan. It doesn't seem like the lawyers for either side are in any hurry to accomplish anything. Billing hours is the game now...
Shaun O'Hara, Ahmad Bradshaw, Zak DeOssie will attend "The Debut" - the draft party that will coincide on the same weekend with the upcoming NFL Draft. Funny how the current players and former players are giving conflicting advice to the new draftees. It seems like damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Then again the former players encouraging top draft prospects to show up to the NFL Draft like Deion Sanders and Warren Sapp do work for the NFL Network... Hmmmm. If I were a player, I would do whatever I could to join the players. As if being a rookie isn't tough enough.

More 1st Round Draft Fun
With Peter spitting the bit with...well...all his picks - I've decided to join Mac, Jmall and Drew for some selection fun.
So far the following 1st picks have been made by my fellow BigBlueDFW colleagues:
OL Nate Solder - Picked by Jmall on 03/01/11
LB Akeem Ayers - Picked by Peter on 03/20/11
RB Mark Ingram - Pick by Peter on 03/23/11
OL Nate Solder - Picked by Peter on 03/30/11
LB Von Miller - Picked by Peter on 04/06/11
All that being said - With the 19th pick of the 2011 NFL draft - The New York Giants select:
Wisconsin Offensive Lineman - Gabe Carimi.
Why you ask? Why not? He hasn't been picked by BigBlueDFW - He's 6-7 315lbs - His nickname is The Jewish Hammer - And he started 49 of his 52 career games at Wisconsin.

With the 117th pick of the draft The New York Giants pick.........
Bilal Powell, Running Back of the Louisville Cardinals....
Oh I know what you're thinking. How can you be picking 4th Round draft pick? Who can pick where this draft will unfold. Call it fate.....call it karma.....but I believe there's a reason that we were destined for a new running back this season. Early scouting reports I read had this guy as a possible work in progress project. While I'm not usually a big fan of the work in progress, I've read that this kid loves to tackle on special teams and hits the receiving team harder than Bob hits on the Jameson bottle. It's so ugly it's a thing of beauty. I don't mind a work in progress so long as he can contribute somehow. Last I checked, the Giants could use all the help they can get on special teams.
Do you have somebody else we should be watching? Tell us who so we can look it up. If you have a better 4th round pick, let us know in the comments. It's almost draft time so it's time to get your picks in now!

With the 52nd pick of the draft The New York Giants pick.........
Greg Jones, linebacker, from Michigan State.
Okay, Okay. I know we're still having fun with the first round picks. So what? It's not too late to start talking 2nd and 3rd round, where we see some of the best talent come from. Many of you will wonder why I picked Greg Jones. Well take some time to look it up. He was a stud linebacker at Michigan State that started his all 4 years. He was linebacker of the year in 2009 for college football. This guy has the talent. My only concern is his size. He's a little small but he follows the ball and has good presence on where to be to make the stop up the middle. He's a tackling machine and manhandles an offense like Jumal manhandle a monster burrito from Freebirds. (Note Freebirds, if you're reading, we are available for advertising.) Most importantly, he's an emotional player, which the Giants seem to be lacking as of lately.
The funny thing is when I went to look up why we haven't heard anything lately about Greg Jones I found two articles about Greg Jones and both were with regards to Greg Jones and the New York Giants. Coincidence, I think not.
