Ten Years Later...

With draft day right around the corner it's hard to believe it's been 10 years since the Giants drafted Eli Manning. While he's had his ups and downs, he certainly has made this a better decade for NY Giants fans. While I'm well aware a football Sunday doesn't go by without an argument among NY Giants fans about how they feel about number 10, no matter how you feel, we still appreciate the 2 Super Bowls he had a hand in.

Recently I saw this video regarding the Eli Manning for Phillips Rivers trade in a countdown for the all time draft day trades. Obviously this video was done before Eli's success as a Super Bowl MVP in 2007. What makes me laugh is the high regard back then for A.J. Smith and how he pulled off this trade and all of the wonderful toys he received in return including Phillip Rivers, Shawne Merriman, and Nate Kaeding. Two of the three are not on active rosters. Not to mention only a couple of years later he would allow Drew Brees to walk and head over to New Orleans. Simply said, thanks A.J..........
