Okay, so I was getting a little hyper-critical of Brandon Jacobs lately. Then, this week, we heard Mike Garafolo of the NJ Ledger report that Brandon Jacobs lack of dominance has been due to bad coaching calls.
Tonight I read the following transcipts from RB coach Jerald Ingram:
http://www.giants.com/news/transcripts/story.asp?story_id=43707
I don't understand how it took the coaching staff 8 games to realize that Brandon Jacobs isn't Derrick Ward and shouldn't be used in the same capacity. What a disappointment!
Now, here is something to consider. Jacobs knows these plays weren't designed for him. Yet for the last 8 weeks he hasn't said one word about bad coaching. He has sucked it up and kept his mouth SHUT in regards to dogging the team. He ignored the media or spent his time being pissed off at reporters for doubting him. I don't agree with Jacobs idle threats of big games and trash talking. But I can admire a player who doesn't throw others under the bus while his lackluster play making abilities are being called out.
Sorry about that big man.

Giants draft pick.....an EAGLE?
With all the secondary injuries it looks like the Filthadelphia Eagles have decided to take a chance on Stoney Woodson, the Giants 7th round draft pick. Woodson was cut from the team during training camp.
I know this happens all the time, but I'll be so pissed if this guy turns out to be good and we got stuck with CC Brown. Yes, I know they're different positions. But I still hate it when we cut somebody and they excel on another team.

Difficult Times
The Giants can still take the division.
I know that sounds ridiculous. I'm having a hard time really believing that. But seriously, Philly has lost to Oakland and the Cowboys. Oakland! The Cowboys needed an overtime to beat the Chiefs! The Giants lost to Philly due to bad game plans. The Giants beat the Cowboys by taking advantage of Cowboy mistakes. Obviously, if they lose the next two then they'll be out of it. But let them beat Atlanta and Denver and then go on a 3 game win streak against the division and it's a football season. This of course rests solely on the fact that the coaching staff gets it together to game plan a lot better.
Don't count out Big Blue just yet!
I'm just saying.......

I know you won't bellieve this.....
but we have an Aaron Ross sighting at Giants practice today.....
UH OH!!!!!
I guess the Giants picking up a CB off of the Denver practice squad magically heals a hamstring.
BIG BLUE!!!!

Another Cowboy Voicemail
Keep in mind that this is the same guy that called me the day after Osi got hurt last season and rubbed it in...
Here was his message today:
"Hey man! It's days like this when you need your friends. I know it's tough out there...things aren't going your way. But people care about you...don't do anything crazy. There are better days ahead. (insert voice gloating) Especially for the Dallas Cowboys. The first place Dallas Cowboys. Give me a call fool."
Needless to say - he didn't and won't get a call back.

There's still hope....
I just heard an interesting comment on talk radio. The last time an NFL team won their first five games, and then went on to lose their next four, were the 1989 Los Angeles Rams. What was the final result???
They rebounded and went on to play in the NFC championship against the 49ers.
There's still hope. They just need to get it together somehow.

Dear Brandon Jacobs
Dear Brandon Jacobs,
Thank you for not catching that critcal pass in the 4th quarter to get the first down.I know your job is to run with the ball, but every now and again we might ask you to catch it mid air as well. Also, we're sorry we made you run up the middle all those years to help you earn your big contract. I know it must be difficult for you since everyone wants to knock you down. We appreciate you taking the time to try and run around some of those large guys or choosing instead to just fall down at the line. We wouldn't want you to get hurt.
Also, can we put you down for another quote of the week. How about we go with the "I'm due for 100 yards this game." Yeah, yeah, let's use that one again. "I'm due."
Sincerely,
BigBlueDFW.
As Bob put it, "You want 100 yards, GO GET IT." And my personal favorite....."I could fall down at the line of scrimmage. Pay me!"
