Does this mean any trade attempts for Braylon Edwards are futile? No, it is highly unlikely, but I know the Giants fans at the Cape Buffalo were shocked we didn't make that trade happen. There are experts that are shocked it did not happen.
When The Cleveland Browns continued to to trade down we speculated. When the Browns made their first pick-Alex Mack - we were not happy. We were now further from our Braylon Edwards deal...
But wait...we saw USC LB Rey Maualuga just sitting there for the taking at 29. When the comissioner announced the Giants 29th pick you could hear a pin drop as the air slowly deflated out of each of us.
I think at this point, no Braylon trade, we wanted a LB!
Instead, we picked Hakeem Nicks , the 6'1"...not 6'3" nor 6'6" WR from UNC. Did the Giants make the best pick for WR? The jury is still out, but Denver jumped on a kid from Bayonne NJ so fast, that may have been the one that got away...Kenny Britt.
So do the Giants continue to search for a true #1 WR in a trade?
Will Hakeem Nicks be an immediate impact this year?
According, to the Giants, he catches EVERYTHING! We need that in windy Giants Stadium. Ah, maybe our number one pick is growing on me!

Rumors, Trade Winds and Draft picks...
Accoring to National Football Post, Michael Lombardi wrote:“They (Cleveland Browns) will move Braylon Edwards and have at least a No. 1 pick on the table right now. Could it be the G-men?
Lombardi said the Browns are “in love with” Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree. and the Browns might move this week on a trade.
General Manager Jerry Reese said weeks ago there is no way 10 rookies make the team...
Are the NY Giants holding the #1 pick for Braylon Edwards? Will they trade up in the draft? Will the stay put and take a fallen WR in this years draft? Will they fool us all and take a True Left Tackle? If I had the answer I would not be blogginn here!
Stay tuned Big Blue Faithful...could something happen today...tomorrow!

Pro Bowl 2009
Watching the Pro Bowl, I heard that Eli is the first NY Giants QB to play in the Pro Bowl since 1993. Yes, the Great Phil Simms was the last QB to represent the ole NY on the helmet. Truth be told, it just said Giants then, but nonetheless its been a long time.
Eli had a personal record breaking year with his improved QB rating. I am very pleased to see him improve, but one thing eats at me...
Ahhhh! Watching him throw the ball up into the end zone corner and then watching Fitzgerald come down with the TD. It makes me really sick. That should have been Plaxico catching that ball and Plaxico assiting young Eli to wins in the playoffs.
Makes me sick, sick, sick!
I hope Jerry Reese watched the Pro Bowl and said, "we need that back in our system." SOOO whether it is Plaxico, Tony Gonzales, Q Boldin or for that matter TJ Houshmazaddaahahdha... We need a security blanket to keep the machine running. As Osi said in an interview, " the Giants figured out how to win and it was disrupted by the absence of Plaxico Burress."
Keep in touch.

Yahoo! Sports News Reports
The unrestricted free agent period begins Feb. 27, the date when the Giants will learn if they have acquired the New Orleans Saints’ first-round pick (14th overall). The deal that sent TE Jeremy Shockey to the Big Easy included the Saints’ second- and fifth-round picks, but a prior deal in which the Saints acquired MLB Jonathan Vilma from the Jets called for a third-round pick, unless he satisfied certain levels of performance, in which case it would become a second. He did. So what does that have to do with the Giants? The NFL has ruled that if New Orleans has to pay the Jets a second-rounder, the Giants will acquire the first-rounder.

Do the Giants draft a killer WR?
Ooh, I better watch what I ask...our last star WR was pretty dangerous with a handgun.
So where do the Giants look? Wide Receiver, Linebacker, Defensive Back? Any other position I am missing? Kick return specialist in the later rounds?
Is free agency still a viable option? I have read rumors of Boldin, but is he going to help us? Does Tony Gonzales still want to to be a Giant? Are either one of these realistic while we try to sign our running backs?
Is there anyone in the draft or for that matter in the NFL, that could replace Plaxico? I think the golden goose shot himself in the leg and we watched Defenses stop our offense with ease. I say we pray for Plaxico's defense lawyers and hope Plaxico gets his head right.
I like the idea of a shut down corner or a dominant linebacker in the first round. So I ask..Peter, Richard...who's out there to draft?
