First, the good news......BIG BLUE SEASON BEGINS TOMORROW!!!!
Officially, anyway. What up all?? Okay, sorry for the lack of updates. You all know how fast time rolls by and it sometimes gets away from us.
So, in a nutshell, we still don't have a home, but there are prospects. I've evaluated a few places by myself, talked with several managers and I've also been out with several of you to check out other places. I've even been fortunate enough to have some places contact me about wanting the business. First, let me share with you what goes into the consideration we give when looking at each potential new BigBlueDFW home. Then, I want to share with you some of the places that have been looked at. I didn't want to share my comments on the blog post because I thought it might be unfair to one bar over another. I'll be happy to email anyone who didn't receive my bulk email with the comments of myself and others. Finally, you can email BarSearch@BigBlueDFW.com if you have a place you think should be considered, but try to keep in mind some of the considerations listed below as they apply to the diversity of our fan base. If everyone thinks these consideration are making things too difficult to decide, let me know and I'll be happy to take in anything considered.
Considerations - Explanation
1. Sound - This seems to be everyone's biggest concern.
2. Location - Believe it or not, I realize many of you travel long distances to meet up every week. Speaking for Drew Feger, and not BigBlueDFW, I really enjoy seeing all of you each week and have really tried hard to keep the place close to where we were so that I can continue seeing your smiling faces. Since there are fans in the Far North, Far South, Far West, and East side I wouldn't want any one group of people in one location to have to travel much further.
3. Size of establishment - Can it accommodate 30-50 people on average with as many as 100+ like we've seen?
4. Cost of Food and Alcohol - Some like the booze more than food. Some prefer the meal. But $5 beers and $12 hamburgers are a factor to consider.
5. Amount of TVs and Quality/Size of the main TVs
6. Appreciation of our business - Are we going to be looked at as just another fan group or a source of revenue that is appreciated?
7. Smokiness of the bar - Some don't mind the smoke. Most hate it. In Addison there is the risk of smoke.
Okay. I know this is a lot of info but I'm doing this to keep everyone informed so you can hopefully appreciate why we just don't pick a place and say "good enough."
Places Visited - Location
Hideaway - Addison
Hub - Addison
The Back Nine - Addison
Fox and the Hound - George Bush and Marsh
Humperdinks - Addison
Austin Ave Bar Grill - Plano
Mucky Duck - Addison Circle
Black Finn - Addison
Tell me some other places to check out. C'mon, it's your fan group too. What do you think?
Place to Check Out this Weekend
Frankie's - Lewisville - They have portable sound boxes at each table. Not sure about their fan clubs or prices.
Tilted Kilt - Lewisville
Dodie's - Addison
Austin Ave Bar Grill - Richardson
Franchise Bar Grill - Plano
Okay, now it's on you to respond. Remember, reply or email: BarSearch@BigBlueDFW.com.
Can't wait to see you all again real soon. I'll try to keep you posted every few days with any new info.
Thanks,
Drew

Pissin in the wind
Is it just me or does this particular off season seem to be sucking more ass than usual? It kinda feels like I need the Hubble telescope to see the upcoming season. I don't know about you, but if there's one day's delay in the start, I'm liable to completely lose my shit.... sorry fellas but I needed to get that out

Ahmad Bradshaw hires Drew Rosenhaus
Bradshaw was represented by Craig Domann and has now hired Drew Rosenhaus as his new agent.
To me this is just Ahmad taking care of business before the lockout ends. He is making sure a deal gets done in his favor. Now, I believe this is a good sign for the Giants and if you want Bradshaw back, Rosenhaus gets deals done for the Giants. I can't remember when a deal doesn't get done.
What is your opinion on Bradshaw's move to Drew Rosenhaus?

let get going on this
We need to find a place to have our watching party... we can't afford to dick around on this, the season will creep up sooner than we think... Also I think its best if we throw out some suggestions so we can go and preview these places, here are the main concerns when choosing a place.. #1. the place has enough room for the crew, meaning that our group sometimes reaches up to a hun... #2 the manager who has to deal with us is not a complete ass clown... #3 because we can guarantee at lest 15-20 each week (# is low balled) that they will provide us with some kind of a special.. exp. $3 drafts of something along those lines... #4 the waitress isn't a dumb ass, now while I like hot waitresses, I like getting my cold beer in a timely manner, so I will sacrifice a nice ass for a homely circus freak who knows how to shake a leg...#5 this is the most important... we get the main sound for BIGBLUE no matter what bullshit ivy league b.s. is on.... Now I've scouted out some places and here are a few places where I think BIGBLUE would be a nice fit.... the back nine on beltline, the hub, or logans... these places are all pretty close to each other and have the intimate settings where, if we fill up the place that no one would dare fuck with us... So lets go check these places out and see whats what and find a home.... any suggestions are welcomed... thanks for your time.... Jmall
The Hefty Lefty in the News...
The former NY Giant back up quarterback, Jared Lorenzen, found himself back in the news playing for the Northern Kentucky River Monsters. He lead them to a 10-2 record in the Ultimate Indoor Football League.
He ranked second in the league with 69 touchdown passes, averaging 256.5 yards per game with a 107.1 passer rating.
He is best remembered for the nickname and his signature play..."the quarterback sneak".
That's all I have...
Oh he still weighs close to a "Hefty" 300 lbs.

Now we were "talking about possible venues that can cater to the needs of a KICKASS crew like THIS... but with a situation like this... it's important that we cop a spot ASAP... and with the size of the group this means we do have some power as far as food/drink specials... so Shake down all your contacts and lets roost asap!!!

You've Got To Love Tuck
The NFL opened the doors today and we've already got a gem from Justin Tuck during an interview with the New York Post. Here's what he had to say in response to Rex Ryan:
"I'm gonna say this and this is gonna be the last time I comment on anything Rex Ryan says. The last time I checked, I have a Super Bowl ring and he doesn't, so if he's proud of coming up short, I guess he should be proud of that."
I love it.
