Big Blue DFW Draft Update

After many calls and texts to Peter in reference to draft predictions in the news and on this very Blog...he said, "When is the last time the Giant draft a lineman in first round?"

To answer your question, Peter, it was 1999. The Giants drafted Luke Petitgout.

More or less, our BigBlueDFW.com draft aficionado was basically telling us, neither he nor Jerry Reese will waste the 19th pick on an offensive lineman. Another smoke screen or a hint? You decide...

NY Giants Tag

You're it! February 24th has come and gone and the Giants organization has opted not to use the Franchise Tag on one of their free agents. This seems to be a fairly usual part of the Giants free agent practices. Should they have used the tag on a player this year? I don't know... that's top 5 player $$$.

Looks like the Giants are Taking Care of Business...well as much as they can without a Collective Bargaining Agreement Renewal and the Darkness of an NFL Lockout.

Most likely a new CBA will not be complete before summer. Who knows when sides will agree. Its sad, but it sounds like the Giants are prepping for a lockout. The Giants Executives are making plans to keep coaching staff and employees as happy as possible. There seems to be as of now, little threat of a major cutbacks in salary for assistant coaches and Coughlin is in line for a contract extension.

New York Giants ownership is loyal to the coaching staff and despite not making the playoffs, don't seem to want to rock the boat at this time. Keeping the coaching staff in place ( Kevin Gilbride you are one lucky bastard); improving the roster depth via the draft; and focusing on the basics of football. The simple stuff we learned in pop warner:

-Protecting the football- just think about the fumbles Giants had in 2010.
-Blocking and tackling- Adding depth to the Giants aging Line.
-Throwing and catching- Eli needs to improve accuracy and as good as the receiving crew looks...they dropped the ball too much!

2011 NFL Draft... Are we there yet?

Close, but no Nat Sherman Cigar! However, this is NFL Combine Weekend 2011! Peter, The Big Blue DFW Draft Expert, should be locked away somewhere in front of the TV and computer researching. I wonder if we could have actually sent Peter to the Combine as a member of the Press? Perpare for Indy in 2012 Peter!

Giants Rumors

Nnamdi Asomugha...Whoa a rumor indeed.

The Draft Weekend can't arrive soon enough. The rumors are flying. News in the NFL is all wrapped rumors and speculation since the CBA Mediation Meetings are hush hush.

Thank you Peter for the update. Keep us updated and work on that pick Pete. We wait for your draft post like waiting for the groundhog to come out on February 2nd.

Now... I will say I am intrigued with Jmall's NASTY NATE at Nineteen!- In reference to Jmall's post on OT Nate Solder .

*****Ruling*****Peter can't pick Nasty Nate at Nineteen... Its been taken. Peter has no pick of present just a handful of teasers.

Good Luck!

Hot G-Men rumors!

Hot rumors: BJ to be cut and Asomugha to be signed http://www.giants101.com/2011/02/19/adam-schein-new-york-giants-will-cut-brandon-jacobs-look-to-sign-nnamdi-asomugha/
But nothing will happen until CBA reached. I'm all for both moves.

Here is RB depth:
  • BJ
  • Bradshaw: Needs to be re-signed
  • Reynaud: I wouldn't mind to be gone
  • Ware: in the league for 4 years and has shown nothing => goner

So, I wouldn't be surprised if G-Men picks Mark Ingram (Ala RB, former Mark Ingram's son) in 1st round. I'm not saying it is my pick but...

Go Big Blue.

Paul Posluszny says...

"I would love to be a Giant!"

Too bad he said it before the 2007 draft...ha ha. Psych! Ok Ok - No more Posluszny posts. However, he kind of looks like he could play the Tick.

Speaking of The Tick...tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock Peter....

With the 19th pick the NEW YORK GIANTS select.....

For all you out there that know me, you know I've made no secret that I would like BIG BLUE to pick up a OT with the 19th pick.... There are 7 teams ahead of BIG BLUE in the draft order that have offensive needs... but because of those needs I believe we can "steal" one of the top three OT's... lets just break it down; #4 Cinn. with ocho and to leaving, these guys need to go with receiver... #8Tenn.. Qb... #9 Cowbitches(they have the same need but with Jerry running the show, who the fuck knows).. #10 foreskins.. Qb..... #14STL.. WR.. Bradford and Jackson need a third element to that show..#15. Now this is interesting I will get into this later...
Now the three badass Ot rate as follows... #1.Tyron Smith USC.. 6-5 285, #2.Nate Solder COL... 6-8 315, #3.Anthony Castonzo BC... 6-7 308.... Lets break it down further... Tyron Smith.. even though he's the top rated, dont want him... first of all he's only 285... he's only got three yrs playing in that pass happy pac10... and we dont need an O line man weighing only 20lbs more than the Rb.
Since the cowslags also have the same need... lets hope they draft this kid who is maybe a 3yr. project.... Anthony Castonzo... nice and beefy 4yrs exp would also be nice... the only thing is I read at the senior bowl... he was getting chewed up by fast DE's around the corner... This is no Bueno nfc east... DE's these guys are fast as hell, and you cant coach speed.. so thats that... So MY CHOICE... NATE SOLDER... this kid is the tits!!!! I have yet to read a bad report on the guy... he has handled the likes of orakpo, Su, Beal... I've seen it... the big 12 (in the last 4 yrs have thrown out game ready stud D- linemen... and this guy's been TCB ing them so I ask wtf? lets hop on this guy... and see what we see.... Unless Miami at 15 doesn't take Ingram... they need all kinds of help but both RB's are up.. Ricky wants to go to a contender, and Brown.. well that guy gets hurt waiting in line at the bank... So If they don't draft a Ingram... I believe he'll be there still... no one really has a(serious) need for a RB till then.. but if miami passes, then BIGBLUE should scoop him up with the quickness... then we can get trade for Jacobs/Bradshaw... and have either one of them, Ware, and Ingram... And I remember the last two times we drafted a RB with the first pick.... cocksuckers...... sorry bout that.......... So JMALL's pick is Nate Solder... unless Ingram is on the board.....

Also since the KNICKS got rid of Nate Robinson.. I've really missed SHOUTING "NASTY NATE"... and this would bring that joy back in my life as he's bitch slapping cowboy/eagle/foreskin/or any other sucka......

PEACE

Perry Fewell

Perry Fewell has been on four head coaching interviews with the Titans, Browns, Panthers and Broncos. I have to say, whoa...close call!

We came very close to losing a very good Defensive Coordinator that has some head coaching experience. I held my breath during the first three interviews and was relieved until along came the Titans. How much does a team or a coach have to endure. It is a sign that Perry Fewell is a top notch coordinator on the rise.

I really like what Perry Fewell has done with our Big Blue Defense. A Cover-2 Defense with turnovers. Yes, the Giants forced an NFL high 42 fumbles. Did I mention getting to the QB.

Oh and Big Blue Faithful, we got to the QB! Quarterbacks did not want to play the G-Men during their head hunting streak of QBs. Five Quarterbacks taken out of the game and SIX if you include the TKO of Brett Favre. When deciding to play the G-Men, I guarantee Brett Favre said ahhh screw the consecutive game streak... this one will hurt.

Perry Fewell is on his way getting the Defense back on track to the Super Bowl. He gets it and the players respond to his high energy. Defense wins Championships and the Giants invented DEFENSE!..DEFENSE!...DEFENSE! Mr. Fewell has big shoes to fill and roster spots to fill. Can anyone say Monster Middle Linebacker?

Pro Football Hall of Fame

This year's finalist ballot has very little interest to me. However, Ed Sabol the man behind NFL Films is a finalist. I can't tell you how much I love NFL Films and the Microphone on the field- His invention.

Recently, I was introduced to Giants Top 10 games- A Giants fan must own. I always watch all highlights of LT. The great DVDs- The Giants Road to XXL, and NY- The Complete History of The New York Giants. Both NFL FILMS. Thank you for the great footage and great Mic'd up players.

Because of Ed Sabol,we got to experience:

" Hey Baby, let's go out there like a bunch of crazed dogs and have some fun!"- Lawrence Taylor.

"The final score will be 17-14. Say it!...One touchdown we are are all Champions. Believe it and it will happen."- Michael Strahan Super Bowl XLII

Thank you Ed Sabol- You deserve The Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Honorable Mention on this years Semifinalist Ballot- George Young, GM NY GIANTS.

Im all bummed out!

Dang it, those f%$#ing eagles and that last 8 minutes of hell. G-Men had it and let it ripped out of their hands to those f@#$king chokers. It could have been us...
Now, I have to sit here and see pictures of the child-rapper Rottenburger and those ugly cheese heads and their cowboys-losing fans. F'em all!!!
Personally, I don't mind Rodgers and I think Matthews is a beast so I don't mind rooting for them to win, espcially Rodgers just because he has to watch that drama pussy Favre for few years... but that means those cheese heads and that f&%^ing obnoxious lady can haunt someone else (hell, I hope someone knock her out!!!). On the other hand, I prefer not to see the Steelers tie G-Men on NFL championship count!!

Big Blue For Life.
