Normally not a New York Giant practice...however... Big Blue DFW seems to have placed a Franchise Tag on Rahim. More to Follow.

Message To Giants Fans From John Mara and Steve Tisch

We are as disappointed as you are in the developments of the past week and the current state of negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement.

For there to be no CBA in place today is extremely disappointing, given the amount of time and hard work and the numerous conversations devoted to achieving an agreement, not just in the last two weeks but over the last two years. We are not happy about that and we certainly understand and appreciate your unhappiness and frustration. Where we are today serves no positive purpose for you, for our players and for the National Football League. Although we had hoped and expected to have an agreement by now and are disappointed that we do not, we remain as committed as ever to returning this process where it belongs, which is the negotiating table. We are convinced that what we have stated many times remains true, that there will be a new agreement and there will be a 2011 NFL season. It is just a matter of when we are able to reach an accord on the current issues.

The impatience and the displeasure we know you are feeling is completely understandable. We can only assure you that the point of the entire process is to make our game as strong as it can possibly be and to enable it to continue to grow for the good of everybody – the league, the players and the fans.

The last thing we wanted is for the business end of our sport to play out this way. We know people frankly don't care how owners and players manage their business. These negotiations distract and detract from what is most important to all of us: the game.

We are doing all we can to return the focus as quickly as possible to where it belongs, the field of play.

Letter From Roger Goodell

Dear BigBlueDFW,

When I wrote to you last on behalf of the NFL, we promised you that we would work tirelessly to find a collectively bargained solution to our differences with the players' union. Subsequent to that letter to you, we agreed that the fastest way to a fair agreement was for everyone to work together through a mediation process. For the last three weeks I have personally attended every session of mediation, which is a process our clubs sincerely believe in.

Unfortunately, I have to tell you that earlier today the players' union walked away from mediation and collective bargaining and has initiated litigation against the clubs. In an effort to get a fair agreement now, our clubs offered a deal today that was, among other things, designed to have no adverse financial impact on veteran players in the early years, and would have met the players’ financial demands in the latter years of the agreement.

The proposal we made included an offer to narrow the player compensation gap that existed in the negotiations by splitting the difference; guarantee a reallocation of savings from first-round rookies to veterans and retirees without negatively affecting compensation for rounds 2-7; no compensation reduction for veterans; implement new year-round health and safety rules; retain the current 16-4 season format for at least two years with any subsequent changes subject to the approval of the league and union; and establish a new legacy fund for retired players ($82 million contributed by the owners over the next two years).

It was a deal that offered compromise, and would have ensured the well-being of our players and guaranteed the long-term future for the fans of the great game we all love so much. It was a deal where everyone would prosper.

We remain committed to collective bargaining and the federal mediation process until an agreement is reached, and call on the union to return to negotiations immediately. NFL players, clubs, and fans want an agreement. The only place it can be reached is at the bargaining table.

While we are disappointed with the union's actions, we remain steadfastly committed to reaching an agreement that serves the best interest of NFL players, clubs and fans, and thank you for your continued support of our League. First and foremost it is your passion for the game that drives us all, and we will not lose sight of this as we continue to work for a deal that works for everyone.

Yours,

Roger Goodell

Sounds Like Someone Needs Money

Out of 30 Giants to get their name inducted into the Giants Ring of Honor - there's a reason why Tiki Barber was the only one that got booed.

He publicly criticized Michael Strahan.
He criticized the coaches and the Giants organization.
He retired saying his body couldn't take the punishment.
He threw the Giants organization under the bus...again.
He threw Eli Manning (Superbowl XLII MVP) under the bus.
He got a journalist job with NBC reporting on the world's biggest pancake.
While pregnant with twins - he left his wife for a 23 year NBC intern.
He has since been let go from NBC.

And now he wants to return to the NFL.

Looks like the salary of a 23 year old intern just can't cut it.

Good luck with the Raiders....bitch.

Another Sunday...

Another Sunday is upon us and I still don't like not having Giants football to watch. Oh sure...I could watch the old games in attempt to fill the void - but it's just not the same.

What makes it worse - is the fact that the NFL is in limbo right now. Will they agree to a new CBA by the extended 7 day deadline? Or are they just dangling a PR carrot in front of voiceless fans so both sides can say, "we tried."

Who knows.

All I know is that right now - under a normal offseason - I'd be excited for free agency. Checking out rumors - wondering if the Giants are ever going to get a serviceable linebacker (sorry Keith Bulluck) or possibly a back up lineman that's not tagged as another "project" in the making.

So far...this sucks.

Mike and Mike

And the rest of the blogging, reporting, Anti- Eli ranters need to find another QB to write about. Plenty of GMs would love to have Eli Manning as a their QB. Plenty of teams need a QB like Eli. Thank God we made the trade for Eli and moved past Dave Brown, Kent Graham and the Bachelor Era.

Jmall had a great post with the two valid issues. Why is Eli a target and when will the G-Men get divisional respect over of all teams the COWBOYS?

Are you kidding me with the Mike "Suck it Philly" Golic prognosis of Eli. Of course he bashes Eli. Manning is a New York Giant that won a Super Bowl Championship Ring. Golic is just a jealous Ex Eagle. As for the other Mike...please enough said, I bet that fruit sleeps next to a pillow with Romo's image each night.

Yet, I don’t think Eli's gone crashing backwards into the bowels of QB hell. Despite youthful WRs and injuries to both WRs and Linemen, if anything Eli is improving a little every year.

Eli had 4000 yards back to back years. Threw for the most TDs since YA Tittle with 31 TDs and has never thrown less than 21 TD s in a season. This year, yes... yes ... yes he had 25 INTs. It's the most to date, but that happens when balls are tipped, dropped and fumbled. The team relied too heavily on the QB and the pass game. Hence, he tries to hard to make something happen.

Giants need to get back to Giants football- Running the ball, Great Defense, Protecting the ball and Protecting the QB! We protect the ball we can have a better balance of run-pass.

I'd trade for Eli again today and twice on Sunday. As well, I will never forget Super Bowl XLII. As for Mike Golic which is your best moment in a Super Bowl?

I hear nothing, but the sound of crickets coming from the mic of Mike Golic.

Top 5 questions facing the NEW YORK GIANTS

So I'm listening to Mike and Mike patiently awaiting the five questions facing the giants just so I can get some national GIANTS action.... And I got to tell you, these guys are on point with every question but the first, let me know if you agree..... #1. Has QB Eli Manning taken a step back? Right away Golic says yes and goes nuts on our boy while Greenie says when he's good he's good.. but when he's bad he's awful.... Are you kiddin me Greenie, no shit buddy... when I'm getting laid I'm good and when I'm not I'm awful.... jerk off.... anyways I dont think Eli's gone backwards... its just a series of unfortunate events is all.... #2. Who is the most important RB? Golic goes with Bradshaw right off the bat while Greenie says the two back system works... well in my opinion, while both are of great value, Bradshaw has more importance... I don't know about you guys but everytime BJ runs the ball, I have a fear that he'll get hurt, maybe its just me... #3. What are the GIANTS do about the turnover problem?... This to me is the MOST important question facing BIG BLUE this off season.... but we all know how to fix this: HOLD ON TO THE DAMN PEAL!! #4. Who will the NYG draft? well they(and this guy)both agree that on an OLT, if this is the case, then PLEASE "NASTY NATE SOLDER" OLT Col... (the nasty is optional... but feels good off the tongue)... #5. Stock raising or falling for next season? On this, these cockchuggers do what the do every year.... they say that the cowboys keep underachieving in that division, then they mention the eagles, then BIGBLUE.... WHAT THE FUCK? how many years will this nonsense go on? Last time the cowboys were worth a shit the "Macarena" was in the top ten, Jmall was sweating asking a hottie to the senior prom, Bob and Mack were making fun of all the "muffs" in Plano, Big Pete was making his daughter, Rich no doubt went to drink beer and kick ass and was almost out of beer, and Drew... well Drew was discovering hair where there wasn't hair before.... Why oh why do these media types fuck with Eli sooo much and leave that fuck romo alone?.... It just makes me HATE them soo much that I can't sleep sometimes... I mean if they just put BIG BLUE behind philly I would not love it but I would understand... But this bullshit.... its a slap in the face to every one of us that bleed blue!!!! anyway, I miss my BIG BLUE crew and let get together soon fellas.... peace
